About Global Fund for Assistance Inc.

From a Volunteer Movement to a Growing Charitable Network

Our story began long before Global Fund for Assistance Inc. became a formal nonprofit organization. It started in Texas in 2011, with a group of volunteers who believed meaningful change should start at the community level.

The first thing we did was straightforward and direct: raise money for charitable projects, hand out food to people experiencing homelessness, support families in difficult circumstances, and rally volunteers around causes that needed immediate action.

Behind us there was no sophisticated fundraising platform and no national network — just people willing to help. That spirit of service is still at the core of everything we do today.

Where It Started

Our first steps were grassroots activities across Texas. Volunteers handed out food, offered help to people experiencing homelessness, raised money for community projects, and organized aid for individuals in difficult situations.

As the effort grew, more volunteers, donors, and community members joined in. What began as a local volunteer initiative gradually developed into a much broader vision:

What if it became easier for anyone, no matter where they lived, to take part in charitable giving and community action?

2021

Growing During a Global Crisis

The COVID-19 crisis showed how quickly communities can come under tremendous pressure. Families faced food insecurity, unemployment, health emergencies, isolation, and financial hardship — while at the same time, more volunteers than ever wanted to help.

In 2021, as our volunteer network continued to grow, we established a formal organizational structure in Delaware to support the next phase of our work. What started as a grassroots effort in Texas was becoming an organized charitable movement.

2024

501(c)(3) Status

In 2024, Global Fund for Assistance Inc. received federal tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

This milestone strengthened the foundation for our charitable activities and advanced our long-term goal: building an interconnected network of donors, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, volunteers, projects, and local chapters. We have continued to grow ever since.

Impact by the Numbers

Our impact extends beyond history — it is happening right now.

$5 million+

raised in the last year alone — supporting charitable projects, getting help to people, and connecting generosity with communities in need.

Behind every dollar is something more significant: a donor who decided to help, a volunteer who decided to serve, a nonprofit carrying out meaningful work, or a community facing a challenge that needed a response.

Building a Responsible Online Fundraising Platform

As charitable giving moves online, we believe technology can make philanthropy more accessible without losing the oversight and accountability that responsible giving requires.

Global Fund for Assistance Inc. is building a technology-enabled charitable giving platform where individuals and communities can:

  • Discover Causes
  • Donate to Projects
  • Respond to Humanitarian Crises
  • Create Community Funds
  • Discover Nonprofit Organizations
  • Recommend Eligible Charitable Recipients
  • Track Their Giving and Impact

Every dollar is a recommendation — recommendations that become grants.

From Texas to Communities Across America

Though our roots are in Texas, our vision is national. We are building a network of local chapters across the United States so communities can address local needs while sharing charitable infrastructure, technology, experience, and resources.

Today, 17 of our local chapters have received tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) from the IRS. And we continue to grow. Our long-term goal is a meaningful charitable presence in all 50 states — each chapter serving its own community while taking part in a wider network able to respond to humanitarian challenges at the regional, national, and international levels.

Giving People More Ways to Give

We believe philanthropy should be accessible. You don't need to be a billionaire, a foundation, or a large corporation to make a difference.

  • A person should be able to give $25 to a cause they care about.
  • A family should be able to start a Community Fund.
  • A community should be able to come together in response to a local emergency.
  • A nonprofit should be able to attract new supporters.
  • A donor should be able to find organizations doing meaningful work anywhere in the world.

That philosophy shapes everything we are building.

Supporting the Nonprofit Ecosystem

We are not building Global Fund for Assistance Inc. to replace existing nonprofits — we are building it to help them connect with people who want to give.

Our charitable ecosystem helps donors discover and support eligible organizations working across causes including:

Disaster and emergency reliefPoverty and family assistanceHunger and food securityHealthcareEducationChildren and youthRefugees and displaced communitiesWomen and girlsHousingWater and sanitationHuman rightsEnvironment and climate resilienceFaith-based humanitarian initiativesCommunity and economic development

In the Community Giving experience, donors may recommend nonprofit organizations they believe are suitable to receive their charitable funds, provided the recommendation aligns with our charitable oversight, recipient eligibility requirements, and compliance procedures.

Local Action. Global Reach.

Our history comes from a commitment to serving the local community. Our future lies in extending that spirit of service from one community to another.

A disaster in one part of the world can inspire generosity thousands of miles away. A local nonprofit can attract supporters beyond its own community. A donor can connect with a cause they might never have encountered otherwise.

Technology helps us make those connections. Our responsibility is to build the charitable infrastructure that makes them possible.

Transparency, Accountability and Trust

Growth brings responsibility. As we grow, we remain committed to strengthening the systems that safeguard donors, nonprofit recipients, Community Fund creators, and the integrity of charitable giving.

Our approach emphasizes:

  • Transparency
  • Accountability
  • Responsible Grantmaking
  • Recipient Verification
  • Financial Oversight
  • Donor Protection
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Technology and Data Security

Donor recommendations remain subject to applicable charitable-purpose requirements, recipient eligibility, compliance procedures, and the discretion and oversight required of Global Fund for Assistance Inc.
