Accountability
Transparency & Accountability
Giving only works when donors can see exactly who they are dealing with, where their money goes and who is legally responsible for it. This page sets out the organizations behind Global Fund of Texas, how a donation travels from your card to a nonprofit, what it costs, and how to reach a person if something looks wrong.
Who operates this website
Two distinct legal entities are involved, and it matters which is which.
Global Fund for Assistance Texas Chapter Corporation
EIN: 39-2140348
1814 N Memorial Way, Houston, TX 77007, United States
Operates the Global Fund of Texas website, its Texas programs and the community outreach behind them.
Global Fund for Assistance Inc.
EIN: 86-3361537
Receives every contribution made on this website, issues the donation receipt and makes the grants to recipient organizations.
To be explicit: contributions made here are received and receipted by Global Fund for Assistance Inc. (EIN 86-3361537). Receipts are not issued under EIN 39-2140348. Copies of our public filings are on the legal filings page.
How donations are processed
- 1. You choose a designation. A nonprofit, a Global Fund, a cause or "where it's needed most". Your choice is recorded as a donor recommendation.
- 2. Payment is captured securely. Card and PayPal payments are handled by PCI-compliant payment processors over an encrypted connection. We never see or store your full card number.
- 3. The gift is recorded. The contribution is booked to Global Fund for Assistance Inc., which retains exclusive legal control over contributed funds, as required for a donor-advised giving model.
- 4. A receipt is issued. An itemized receipt is emailed automatically and is available in your account.
- 5. Funds are granted out. Grants are released to eligible recipient organizations, following your recommendation wherever it can be honored.
How grants and disbursements work
Your fund or nonprofit selection is a recommendation, not a directed payment. Before a grant is released, the recipient is checked for eligibility and payment details are confirmed with the organization itself. If a recommended recipient cannot be verified, has closed, or cannot accept the grant, the gift is redirected to a comparable eligible organization working on the same cause — it is never returned to the person who organized a fund.
Organizers of community Global Funds cannot withdraw donations to a personal account. There is no path in the platform for donated money to reach an individual.
Fees and platform support
There is no donor fee to give and no fee to open a giving account. At checkout you may optionally add a small amount to help cover payment processing and platform costs; it is entirely optional and clearly shown before you confirm. Full detail is on the fees page.
Donation receipts
Every completed contribution generates a receipt with a receipt number, the amount, the date, the designation you recommended and the receiving entity. It is emailed to the address you supply and stored in your account if you have one. When you recommend a grant using money already contributed to your giving account, you receive a recommendation confirmation rather than a second receipt — the contribution was already receipted when the money came in.
If a receipt does not arrive, email support@globalfundoftexas.org and we will resend it.
Privacy and donor choice
Donations are shown anonymously by default; your name is only displayed publicly if you choose to display it. We do not sell donor data. Cookie categories are opt-in beyond what is strictly necessary, and your choice is recorded and can be changed at any time from the privacy center, which also handles access and deletion requests.
Organization eligibility
Recipient organizations are drawn from public nonprofit registries and from organizations that claim and verify their own profile with us. Recipients added to a community fund are reviewed before any grant is released. Listing an organization in our directory is not an endorsement, and a listing does not mean an organization has received a grant.
Nonprofits can claim their profile to correct their information or update payment details.
