Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
Welcome to Global Fund of Texas, a charitable giving and fundraising platform operated by GLOBAL FUND FOR ASSISTANCE TEXAS CHAPTER CORPORATION, 1814 N Memorial Way, Houston, TX 77007, United States.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Global Fund of Texas website, platform, applications, giving tools, Community Funds, nonprofit directory, donation services, Community Giving Accounts, and other related services (collectively, the "Services").
Please review these Terms carefully. They contain important information concerning your legal rights, responsibilities, charitable contributions, fund recommendations, disputes, and use of the Services.
By accessing or using Global Fund of Texas, creating an account, creating a Community Fund, making a charitable contribution, recommending a nonprofit recipient, or receiving an eligible charitable grant through the platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the Services.
1. About Global Fund of Texas
Global Fund of Texas is the public-facing charitable giving platform operated by Global Fund for Assistance Texas Chapter Corporation ("Global Fund of Texas," "Global Fund," "we," "us," or "our").
The platform is designed to help individuals and communities:
- Discover charitable causes
- Support nonprofit organizations
- Donate to charitable projects
- Respond to crises
- Create Community Funds
- Recommend eligible nonprofit recipients
- Organize charitable fundraising campaigns
- Track charitable giving activity
- Support charitable initiatives locally, nationally, and internationally where permitted
Global Fund of Texas retains the oversight and control required to ensure that charitable funds are administered and distributed for eligible charitable purposes.
2. Eligibility to Use the Services
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Services.
By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.
You agree to maintain accurate account information and protect your login credentials.
You are responsible for activity occurring through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
You may not impersonate another person or organization or create an account using false or misleading information.
3. Charitable Contributions
Users may make charitable contributions ("Contributions") through Global Fund of Texas.
Unless otherwise clearly disclosed during the donation process, Contributions are received and administered by Global Fund for Assistance Texas Chapter Corporation for charitable purposes.
A donor may recommend that a Contribution support:
- A particular eligible nonprofit
- A Community Fund
- A charitable project
- A crisis-response fund
- A particular cause
- One or more eligible charitable recipients
A donor's recommendation is considered when administering the Contribution.
However, Contributions made to Global Fund of Texas are charitable assets subject to the organization's charitable purposes, oversight, compliance procedures, recipient eligibility requirements, and applicable law.
A donor recommendation does not create personal ownership of contributed funds and does not give the donor a right to withdraw charitable assets for personal use.
4. Recommending Nonprofit Recipients
Global Fund of Texas allows donors and Community Fund organizers to recommend nonprofit organizations they would like charitable funds to support.
Recommendations may include nonprofit organizations already listed within the Global Fund of Texas directory or organizations suggested by users.
A recommendation does not automatically make an organization eligible to receive a grant.
Before disbursement, Global Fund of Texas may review matters including:
- Legal nonprofit status
- Tax-exempt status
- Organizational identity
- Charitable purpose
- Registration information
- EIN or equivalent registration number
- Recipient eligibility
- Banking or payout information
- Sanctions/compliance requirements
- Intended use of charitable funds
- Other information reasonably necessary for charitable and regulatory compliance
Global Fund of Texas may approve or decline a recipient recommendation.
5. Community Created Funds
Registered users may create charitable fundraising campaigns through the Community Created Funds feature.
Community Funds allow users to:
- Select charitable causes
- Tell the story of their fundraiser
- Establish a fundraising goal
- Recommend one or more nonprofit recipients
- Share their fundraiser publicly or through a private link
- Receive charitable Contributions through the platform
Creating a Community Fund does not establish a new legal charity, nonprofit corporation, private foundation, or independent charitable entity.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Community Funds are fundraising vehicles administered through Global Fund of Texas.
6. Publication of Community Funds
Eligible Community Funds may be published without routine manual pre-approval when required information has been completed and applicable automated security and risk requirements are satisfied.
Publication of a Community Fund does not constitute:
- Verification of every statement made by the organizer
- Approval of a nonprofit recipient
- Authorization of a grant
- Guarantee of payout
- Endorsement by Global Fund of Texas
Global Fund of Texas reserves the right to review any Community Fund at any time. We may:
- Request additional information
- Restrict donations
- Temporarily pause a fundraiser
- Remove a fundraiser from public visibility
- Declare a fundraiser ineligible to receive Contributions
- Suspend or terminate an organizer's access
- Investigate suspected fraud or misuse
when reasonably necessary to protect donors, nonprofit recipients, the platform, or charitable assets.
7. Fundraiser Organizer Responsibilities
Fund organizers agree to provide truthful and accurate information.
Organizers must not:
- Misrepresent a charitable purpose
- Impersonate a nonprofit or another person
- Falsely claim authorization from an organization
- Provide fabricated beneficiary information
- Misrepresent how funds will be used
- Manipulate donation totals
- Create fraudulent campaigns
- Use charitable fundraising for personal enrichment
- Use funds for unlawful purposes
- Circumvent recipient verification
- Attempt to redirect charitable assets improperly
Global Fund of Texas may investigate campaigns when there is reason to believe information is inaccurate, fraudulent, misleading, or inconsistent with charitable purposes.
8. Charitable Control and Discretion
Global Fund of Texas maintains the control and discretion required over Contributions administered by the organization.
Although donors and Community Fund organizers may recommend charitable recipients or causes, Global Fund of Texas retains authority to determine whether a proposed grant or disbursement is consistent with:
- Its charitable mission
- Recipient eligibility standards
- Applicable law
- Tax requirements
- Compliance requirements
- Platform policies
A recommendation does not constitute an automatic or legally binding obligation to make a grant to a particular organization.
9. When a Recommended Charity Cannot Receive a Grant
There may be circumstances where Global Fund of Texas cannot make a grant to a recommended recipient. Examples may include:
- The nonprofit no longer exists
- The organization cannot be verified
- Loss or absence of required charitable status
- Sanctions/compliance concerns
- Incomplete banking information
- Fraud concerns
- Failure to satisfy eligibility requirements
- The proposed use is not charitable
- Other legal or regulatory restrictions
In such circumstances, Global Fund of Texas may contact the donor or organizer to request another recommendation.
Where permitted by applicable law and the governing charitable structure, Global Fund of Texas may ultimately redirect charitable assets to another eligible organization or charitable purpose that reasonably aligns with the donor's original charitable intent.
10. Contributions Are for Charitable Purposes
Once a completed charitable Contribution has been received and accepted by Global Fund of Texas, the donor generally relinquishes control over the donated charitable property.
Contributions should therefore be considered irrevocable once completed, except where a refund is required or permitted because of circumstances such as:
- Duplicate transaction
- Processing error
- Unauthorized payment
- Fraud
- Legal requirement
- Other circumstances approved by Global Fund of Texas
Refund requests are evaluated in accordance with our donation and refund policies and applicable law.
11. Community Giving Accounts
Global Fund of Texas may provide users with a Community Giving Account.
A Community Giving Account is a charitable giving interface and is not:
- A checking account
- A savings account
- A bank account
- An investment account
- A personal digital wallet
Amounts shown as a charitable giving balance represent charitable funds administered within the Global Fund of Texas platform subject to applicable charitable restrictions.
Users may recommend eligible charitable recipients but may not withdraw charitable funds for personal use.
Nothing in these Terms should be interpreted as creating a legally recognized donor-advised fund unless Global Fund of Texas has expressly established and identified the relevant account as such under applicable law.
12. Grants to Eligible U.S. Charities
Global Fund of Texas may make grants to organizations determined to be eligible charitable recipients.
Where applicable, U.S. recipient organizations may be required to qualify under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and satisfy appropriate public-charity or other eligibility requirements.
Grants must be used exclusively for appropriate charitable purposes.
Unless expressly permitted by law and Global Fund of Texas policy, charitable grants may not provide an impermissible private benefit to the donor, fundraiser organizer, or another private individual.
Charitable funds may not be used for prohibited political campaign activities. Certain lobbying or other activities may also be restricted.
13. International Charitable Giving
Global Fund of Texas may support charitable organizations or programs outside the United States through appropriate structures and partners.
International grants may require:
- Additional recipient verification
- Equivalency or expenditure-responsibility procedures where applicable
- International grantmaking partners
- Sanctions screening
- Banking verification
- Additional documentation
- Other legal or compliance reviews
International donations may have different tax consequences.
Global Fund of Texas does not guarantee that every international charitable recommendation can be fulfilled.
14. Tax Deductibility
Global Fund of Texas does not provide individual tax, accounting, or legal advice.
Tax treatment depends on numerous factors, including:
- Donor jurisdiction
- Recipient
- Contribution structure
- Applicable federal law
- State law
- International law where applicable
Where appropriate, Global Fund of Texas may issue a charitable contribution acknowledgment for qualifying Contributions received by the organization.
DONORS SHOULD CONSULT THEIR OWN ATTORNEY, ACCOUNTANT, OR TAX ADVISOR REGARDING THE DEDUCTIBILITY AND TAX TREATMENT OF ANY CONTRIBUTION.
Do not rely solely on information displayed on the platform when determining personal tax consequences.
15. Contribution Records
Global Fund of Texas may maintain records showing:
- Contributions
- Recommended nonprofit recipients
- Grants
- Fund allocations
- Refunds
- Transactions
- Other relevant charitable activity
Registered users may be provided access to appropriate records through their account dashboard.
Records will be retained in accordance with applicable legal, financial, tax, and organizational requirements.
16. Recurring Contributions
Users may elect to establish recurring charitable Contributions where the feature is available.
Recurring donations will be processed according to the frequency and amount selected by the donor.
Users may cancel future recurring Contributions through their account or other available cancellation method.
Cancellation does not ordinarily reverse Contributions that have already been successfully processed.
17. Payment Processing
Global Fund of Texas may use third-party payment processors, including Stripe or other approved payment providers.
Payment card information may be handled directly by the applicable payment processor rather than stored by Global Fund of Texas.
A donation is not considered successfully completed solely because a browser or application displays a success message.
Global Fund of Texas may rely on server-side confirmation and verified payment-provider notifications before recording a Contribution as completed.
18. Inactive Accounts
Global Fund of Texas encourages active participation.
Accounts that remain inactive for an extended period may be suspended, archived, or terminated where permitted by applicable law and organizational policy.
Financial, charitable, compliance, and transaction records may continue to be retained where legally or operationally required.

The Global Fund of Texas website, platform design, software, content, branding, graphics, and other proprietary materials are owned by Global Fund of Texas or its applicable licensors, except for third-party content.
The name "Global Fund of Texas" and associated logos, designs, branding, platform elements, and marks may not be copied or used in a manner that falsely implies sponsorship, affiliation, endorsement, or authorization.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Global Fund of Texas intellectual property to a user.
22. Third-Party Content and Links
The Services may include links to third-party websites or information supplied by nonprofit organizations and other external sources.
Global Fund of Texas does not necessarily control such third-party websites.
A link or directory listing does not automatically constitute an endorsement.
Users accessing third-party websites do so subject to the third party's own terms, privacy policies, and practices.
23. Nonprofit Directory
Organizations appearing in the Global Fund of Texas nonprofit directory may have different verification statuses.
A directory listing alone does not mean that Global Fund of Texas has:
- Endorsed the organization
- Audited the organization
- Guaranteed its programs
- Approved it to receive grants
Recipient eligibility may be separately reviewed before funds are disbursed.
24. Platform Security
Global Fund of Texas takes reasonable measures intended to protect the Services and charitable transaction infrastructure.
However, no internet-connected platform can guarantee absolute security.
Users are responsible for protecting their passwords and account credentials and should notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.

- Donations
- Accounts

when reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, security, regulatory compliance, or charitable oversight.
Funds may temporarily be made ineligible for donations or disbursement during such review.
26. Disputes with Nonprofit Recipients
Global Fund of Texas is not responsible for every interaction or independent relationship between users and nonprofit organizations.
Global Fund of Texas may, but is not obligated to, assist with certain disputes involving use of the platform.
Nothing in these Terms makes Global Fund of Texas responsible for independent acts or omissions of an unrelated nonprofit organization.
27. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS.
GLOBAL FUND OF TEXAS DOES NOT GUARANTEE:
- Continuous availability
- Error-free operation

Where appropriate, a fundraiser may remain visible while being marked "Donations Currently Unavailable."
Global Fund of Texas may separately control fundraiser visibility and donation eligibility.
